Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio is an American actor. She is famous for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively in ABC's Lost television series. The couple had separated and they moved together with their mother to Los Angeles. It was a struggle to get by at the time she landed her first part in the acting world in the film Rachel's Room's main character. The film for television Murder in Greenwich where she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. In 2004, Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost where she was the main cast member for the first two seasons, and was awarded an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. Grace was dropped from the series in the year 2005, to take on an even more prominent role in films, having appeared opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) on Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern adaptation that Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon's part in Lost for two more episodes, including the series final. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth series of Californication. She plays Faith as a groupie and also a model for stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. She is part of Gyllenhaal's family, and is the older cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began when she was a teenager, playing small appearances in his films. She also appeared alongside her brother in the famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). Then she appeared on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received nominations for a Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) as well as the love story Secretary (2002). Both films were critically acclaimed. The year 2006 was the time she appeared in a number of films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However it was her performance in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). Nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). In the following years, she appeared in comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012). The other roles she played were an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in Frank (2014) as well as The title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). The debut of Gyllenhaal as a writer and director came in 2021 when she wrote The Lost Daughter, a psycho-drama that won her an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
